I vehemently disagree with this. Some people simply do not want to seek counseling or treatment and who are we to stop them? To expect every person to be just a big smiling happy face all the time and try to override their expression is detracting from the human experience and it’s disgusting.
The best way for people to get over loss, tragedy, pain, brokenheartedness, etc., is to express it and get it out and if you take away their avenue of expression, it builds up and more likely results in people actually going through with harming themselves. If you want people to live, give them a reason to live by listening and being there for them. DON’T JUST THROW PILLS AT THEM AND TRY TO SHUT THEM UP.
